Священник, педагог, краевед. С 1884 г. служил священником в с. Понино на севере Удмуртии, с 1885 г. преподавал в местном народном училище. При его содействии в 1886 г. в селе открылась церковно-приходская школа. В октябре 1897 г. был назначен на должность миссионера в Глазовском уезде. Хорошо знал удмуртский язык. Помимо миссионерской и краеведческой работы занимался агрономией и пчеловодством.[6]
